24 July 2025, Dubai, UAE
The Community Development Authority in Dubai, under the sponsorship of Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, organised the social preparatory programme “Start It Right” for those about to marry. The programme took place over two days on 19 and 20 July 2025 at the V Hotel in Al Habtoor City.

The programme reflects the Authority’s commitment to supporting young men and women preparing to establish stable families. The first day was dedicated to women, while the second was dedicated to men, ensuring that the training content was balanced and considerate of the social and psychological particularities of each group, thereby enhancing participation effectiveness.
Approximately 100 young men and women attended the programme, which saw remarkable engagement from participants. This highlighted the urgent need for such preparatory programmes that provide young people with scientific tools and practical skills to help them embark on married life with confidence and readiness, free from misconceptions or psychological and social challenges.

The “Start It Right” programme is one of the pioneering awareness initiatives offered by the Community Development Authority. It aims to enhance the awareness of those about to marry and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for a stable married life, contributing to the building of cohesive families capable of facing challenges and achieving family balance.
The programme covered various topics, including correcting misconceptions about marriage, clarifying the foundations of a healthy marital relationship, linking married life to legal and religious frameworks, alongside training on communication and dialogue skills, financial management, prioritisation, conflict resolution, as well as managing social relationships and instilling intellectual and cultural values within the context of modern life.
The programme also emphasised the importance of preserving Emirati identity and enhancing social cohesion, based on the principle that family building is the cornerstone of community stability.
In a video address, Khalaf Al Habtoor conveyed his full support to the participants, stating: “You are the core and future of the nation. Marriage is not merely a union; it is the beginning of a stage that must be built on love, respect, and understanding. I hope marriage becomes a source of moral and material support to help you achieve your ambitions and enhance your happiness. You are the ones who will raise the next generation, capable of carrying the nation’s banner and contributing to its prestige and stability.”
Earlier, Al Habtoor launched a distinctive initiative to support Emirati youth preparing to marry, pledging to contribute to establishing 100 Emirati families annually — a step that reflects his national and social commitment to community development and youth empowerment.

The Community Development Authority reaffirmed the importance of continuing to launch awareness and preparatory programmes for those about to marry, pointing out that providing scientific and knowledge-based guidance is a fundamental step towards building a more cohesive society based on a strong, aware family capable of achieving social stability.
This initiative is part of a series of strategic efforts by the Authority, in partnership with government and private sectors, aimed at creating a nurturing environment for Emirati youth and empowering them to build a bright future that benefits both family and society alike.
