 The window for accepting nominations for Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance Award closes on September 18

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 8 September 2022: Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance has announced that Sunday (18 September 2022), is the final day to submit nominations for the 25th cycle of its excellence award.

As nominations for the award were opened last May targeting the UAE, the wider Gulf and the Arab world at large, there has been great response to take part in the nine different categories including the distinguished student (local), the distinguished student (Gulf), the distinguished university student (local), the distinguished teacher award (local and Gulf), and the distinguished educational specialist award (local), the distinguished school (local and Gulf), the Hamdan-ALECSO award for distinguished educational research and the local institutions for supporting education award.

“As it celebrates its silver jubilee, the Foundation continues its relentless efforts to support the educational system through an array of programs aiming at achieving educational excellence by discovering and nurturing talented and innovative individuals. Boasting a 25-year legacy has enriched the growth of education in the UAE by supporting educational initiatives and programs targeting several communities and regions,” said Dr. Jamal Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and General Secretary of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance.  

Dr. Al Muhairi explained that the Foundation, over the past 25 years, has made outstanding efforts to develop the award on par with international standards. It has recently created a set of new evaluation criteria for the 25th cycle of the award which aim to enhance the skills and expertise of the examination committee and familiarize them with the new criteria and procedures by launching the Certified Arbitrator Program which includes numerous training courses for the various award categories.

Moreover, Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has also conducted training sessions to introduce new standards and update participants on requirements and conditions. This aims at increasing participants’ chances of winning the various categories of the award. Training for the 25th cycle have been developed through virtual training programs, induction films, field visits to universities and schools among others.

“The participation rate to date is impressive especially in the distinguished student category reflecting the educational community’s trust and belief in the Foundation’s award. We wish applicants success in winning the award to bring into the educational system contemporary models of outstanding practices,” Dr. Al Muhairi concluded.
