Among the many highlights of Diwali are the opportunities to eat delicious food and spend quality time with family and friends. These experiences are at the heart of the Diwali in Dubai calendar, organised and presented by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). 

Daily until 28 October, restaurants across the city will present special Diwali menus, buffets, and brunches, full of classic, scrumptious Indian dishes. And what better way to celebrate with family or friends than in one of the city’s hotels, with special Diwali deals across Dubai.

DIWALI RESTAURANT OFFERS 

Close to the World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road, The Crossing restaurant in the H Hotel Dubai is celebrating Diwali from 14 to 28 October with ‘lost recipes’ and regional classics from across India. An AED 245 tasting menu is available for lunch and dinner, which includes an illumination box for the festival of lights.The exclusive tasting menu honours the Festival of Lights with the best celebratory favourites from India. 

At Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate, Mistral restaurant has a special Diwali buffet on 24 October from 6.30PM until 10PM, featuring a wide range of Indian cuisine, including desserts. And it costs just AED 125 per person. 

Authentic North Indian flavours are the promise of Chutney’s Restaurant at the Movenpick Hotel Bur Dubai, with special Diwali set menus from 21 to 24 October. From 7PM until midnight, guests can choose between vegetarian (AED 150) and non-vegetarian options (AED 160), as they are entertained by the live Ghazal band. 

Celebrate the festival of lights at Kaleidoscope Buffet Restaurant at Atlantis, The Palm. With activities like henna tattooing, an Indian cultural parade, and many more surprises, guests are bound to make special memories and bond with loved ones this Diwali daily from 22 to 24 October from 6PM until 10PM. Meals are available at AED 275 per adult, AED 137,50 per child, while toddlers aged 0-3 years dine for free. 

Still on the Palm Jumeirah, the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa is offering a three-course Diwali set menu at its signature contemporary Indian fine dining restaurant Varq. From 15 to 24 October, from noon to midnight, there are many authentic and contemporary vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to try, priced AED 295 per person, and an extra AED 175 to be paired with the restaurant’s beverage sampler.  

The Emperor Lounge at the same location is offering a Diwali-themed afternoon tea from 20 to 24 October, from 2PM until 5PM, which includes the resort’s own blend, Cha Exotica, with customers serenaded by live musicians. Price is AED 225 for two people. 

And you can try a Diwali buffet at the Taj Exotica The Palm’s all day-dining restaurant Palm Kitchen from 22 to 24 October, from 6.30PM until 10.30PM. Live cooking stations, musicians and a kids’ corner are also part of the fun, with prices ranging from AED 175 to AED 375, depending on drinks options, and AED 100 for kids aged five to 11. 

Khyber on the 15th floor of Dukes the Palm hotel has a Diwali dinner celebration from 20 to 24 October, from 5PM until 11PM, featuring North Indian delicacies, offered in an authentic setting with a live Chaat station, entertainment and Henna hand painting. Grab yourself a spot from just AED 195 per person. 

The Grand Hyatt Dubai’s iZ restaurant is celebrating Diwali from 23 to 25 October, from 7PM until 11.30PM, with traditional set menus designed for sharing, priced from AED 150 per person. Tables will be decorated with candles, diyas, Rangoli and toran, and there is the Chaat Corner featuring an array of sweets. 

Over in Al Seef, the standalone Chokhi Dhani restaurant is pulling out all the stops from 14 to 28 October. Arrive from 4PM until 11PM, and be treated to a traditional Rajasthani folk dance, puppet and magic shows, and other entertainment. A packed buffet awaits here too, with adult prices from AED 105, children from five to 10 half price, under-fives free. 

In the lobby of the Grand Mercure Dubai hotel, Walima is preparing to celebrate Diwali from 20 to 28 October. Open from 7PM until 10PM, expect a range of Indian dishes, with set menu prices from AED 135 per person, half price for children from six to 12, under six go for free. 

For an unforgettable experience, meet at the Dubai Museum on Sunday 23 October, with Diwali food tours from 6.30PM until 9.30PM, 7PM until 10PM, and 8PM until 11PM. The evening will see the surrounding area swathed in kaleidoscopic colour, with an opportunity to learn street photography with Gulf Photo Plus in collaboration with Frying Pan Adventures, and a range of sweet and savoury treats to try. The price is AED 649 per person. 

Back on the Palm Jumeirah, the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray’s Amala restaurant will be decorated to mark Diwali from 22 to 24 October. The set menu dishes include lamb pepper fry and shahi methi paneer, with a daily live show from 7PM until 10PM. Prices from AED 230 per person. 

And there should be no confusion about what the standalone World of Curries in Deira will be offering for Diwali. Stop by for a special dinner on Saturday 22 October, served from 6.30PM until 11PM, or go for brunch the following day, from noon to 4PM. All for AED 65 per person. 

Onboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 Hotel, Lido restaurant will be celebrating Diwali on Monday 17 October. From 6PM until 10PM, a special dinner buffet will be offered, including curries, freshly made bread and traditional desserts. Price is AED 149 per person, children aged from six to 11 half price, under sixes free. 

There’s the potential to eat for free at the Dubai Grand Hotel & Fortune Atriums Desi Dhaba restaurant. Dine here for Diwali from 14 to 28 October, leave your details on the receipt, and one lucky winner will be selected each night to receive back the value of their bill. And even if you don’t win, there are still kebabs and curries to enjoy. 

Rasa Restaurant at the Fortune Atrium Hotel in Karama is open for lunch (from noon until 4PM) and dinner (from 6PM until 1AM) from 14 to 28 October, serving delicious curries from the Coastal belt of India. Unlimited thali is available at lunchtime on weekdays for AED 39 per person, and the family offer at dinner includes two starters, four main courses, rice, desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks for AED 299 per person. 

If you happen to be in Jebel Ali from 23 to 27 October, Kinara by Vikas Khanna at the JA Lake View Hotel, part of JA the Resort, is celebrating Diwali every evening from 6.30PM until 10.30PM. Enjoy a curated six-course menu from acclaimed chef Vikas Khanna, priced at AED 280 per person. Definitely one to light up your taste buds. 

From 17 to 24 October, celebrate the festival of lights with your friends, family and colleagues in Tandoor Tina at the 25hours Hotel One Central with a special Diwali menu designed for sharing. The restaurant also offers a vegetarian menu. Prices start at AED 150 per person. 

Finally, choose between Diwali brunch or dinner from 22 to 26 October at the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek. Its Aseelah restaurant will be offering both, each featuring around 200 dishes, all for AED 225 per adult, or AED 99 for kids aged from four to 12, and under-fours eat free. Also try the Indo-Chinese set menu at China Club, priced AED 119 per person. 

DIWALI HOTEL DEALS
