IKKA Dubai at Hyatt Centric Jumeirah presents On Practising Recovery, the UAE debut exhibition of visual artist Reem Ali, running from 4 to 28 February 2026. The exhibition marks a significant moment in Ali’s artistic journey, introducing regional audiences to her deeply introspective and emotionally resonant body of work.
Reem Ali’s practice is rooted in personal explorations of domestic spaces and the emotional and existential states intertwined within them. Through a contemplative visual language, her work reflects on the inner lives of women and the poetic, often overlooked, spaces that shape human experience.
Working across still, minute-long video scenes, photography, and text, Ali examines the subtle tension between intimacy and isolation. Her works reveal the quiet emotional pressures embedded within domestic environments, inviting viewers to pause and engage with moments of stillness, vulnerability, and reflection.
On Practising Recovery unfolds as a series of tender yet unsettling inner narratives, where familiar spaces become sites of emotional complexity. The exhibition encourages audiences to consider the layered nature of human existence, memory, and recovery, offering an intimate encounter with the artist’s nuanced perspective.
