If you missed the opening concert for Beat the Heat last weekend and the electric performances from Egyptian rapper-songwriter WEGZ and rap futurist DizzyTooSkinny – don’t worry. This serious showcase of Arab talent, curated by Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) in partnership with Anghami Spotlight, features an incredible line-up of regional artists with weekly concerts at The Agenda, Dubai Media City, all summer long.

This weekend, Saturday 22 July, there’s a treat in store for the city’s rock fans, as Egyptian favourites Cairokee take to the stage. And laying down the bars and beats is El Far3i – the Jordanian-Palestinian singer, songwriter, rapper and percussionist.

On Saturday 29 July don’t miss Egypt’s trap sensation Afroto, Tunisian singer Balti, and Sudanese rapper Soulja are all lined up for what looks set to be a legendary night of performances.

After a one week hiatus, Beat The Heat returns on Saturday 12 August with a unique cultural spin on musical genres, with hip hop and cuban funk band Sharmoofers, followed by Jordanian indie band and fan-favourites Autostrad, delivering their own special blend of rock, reggae, Latin and funk.

On Saturday 19 August, Saudi sensation Modi Al Shamrani will be flexing her vocal might, followed by a not-to-be-missed performance from the one-and-only DJ Aseel.

Beat The Heat comes to a close with a bang on Friday 1 September, with Egyptian rockers Massar Egbari making some noise, plus Disco Misr skillfully infusing Arabic pop with deep house, nu-disco and punk. It’s enough to give anyone FOMO.
