Dubai Opera Unveils its 9^th season.

Dubai Opera is set to welcome over 50 international productions to the stage, with more than 150 performances, including regional debuts, new collaborations, and modern interpretations of opera, ballet, and musical theatre.   

Dubai Opera 2025–2026 Season Highlights

An Unparalleled Season: Over 50 world-class productions spanning opera, ballet, musicals, concerts, Arabic music, comedy, theatre, and special galas, featuring more than 1,000 artists from around the world.

• Opening Performances: The season launches in September 2025 with a spectacular trilogy: Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Bohème”, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and the “Emperor” Piano Concerto, and Tchaikovsky’s timeless “Swan Lake” ballet.
• Opera & Classical Music:
  • The long-awaited Middle East debut of piano superstar Yuja Wang.

Dubai, 17 September 2025

Dubai Opera unveiled its highly anticipated 2025–26 Season with a spectacular opening gala that brought together regional and international media, leading cultural figures, and distinguished guests. The evening commenced with a moving rendition of the UAE National Anthem performed by the Arabic Music Institute Ensemble, followed by a stirring performance of the celebrated duo ”O, soave fanciulla:  from Puccini’s La Bohème”, presented by soloists from the Hungarian State Opera, the season’s first production. These defining moments set the stage for a year-long programme designed to bridge genres, generations, and global stages, celebrating the power of the performing arts to inspire and connect.

“La Bohème” | 18 to 20 September 2025 – Puccini’s “La Bohème” tells the timeless story of Rodolfo and Mimì, young lovers in 19th-century Paris. Presented by the Hungarian State Opera, this classic 1937 staging by Kálmán Nádasdy remains celebrated for its authenticity, emotional depth, and unforgettable music.

“Tamerlano” | 10 to 11 January 2026 – A bold reimagining of Handel’s baroque opera, blending traditional Uzbek instruments with Western classics in a tale of love, power, and destiny.

“Swan Lake” | 25 to 28 September 2025 – The Hungarian National Ballet returns with a spellbinding production of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece “Swan Lake” — a tale of love, magic, and betrayal, featuring the iconic dual role of Odette and Odile.

“Roberto Bolle & Friends” | 06 November 2025 – A dazzling gala curated by ballet icon Roberto Bolle, featuring international stars in a blend of classical masterpieces and contemporary works. “The Nutcracker” | 18 to 21 December 2025 – A festive classic, Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” follows young Clara and her Prince on a magical journey through snow and sweets. Beloved worldwide since its 1892 premiere, it remains a timeless holiday tradition for all ages.

“Beethoven’s The Fifths”| 21 September 2025 – An extraordinary evening featuring Beethoven’s most iconic works — the dramatic Fifth Symphony and the majestic Emperor Concerto. Performed by the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra with exceptional and highly talented pianist Anna Tsybuleva, the programme captures the composer’s genius, power, and timeless emotional depth.

“National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia” | 27 to 28 November 2025 – Founded by Maestro Vladimir Spivakov, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia is acclaimed for its rich, expressive sound and collaborations with world-renowned artists. At Dubai Opera, the orchestra will perform with celebrated soloists Adam Gutseriev (piano) and Dali Gutserieva (cello).

“Stars of the Century Opera Gala”| 22 December 2025 – On December 22, 2025, Dubai Opera marks its 10th anniversary with an unforgettable gala featuring opera stars as José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and soprano Hibla Gerzmava. An evening celebrating opera, zarzuela, Broadway, and global song traditions.

“Yuja Wang”| 26 March 2026 – On 26 March 2026, M Premiere and House of Pianos will present Steinway Artist Yuja Wang, one of the world’s most celebrated pianists. Renowned for her virtuosity, charisma, and expressive depth, Yuja has dazzled global audiences from Carnegie Hall to Europe’s great stages.

Denis Matsuev| 03 May 2026 – One of the world’s most renowned pianistsDenis Matsuev brings his powerful artistry to Dubai Opera. Celebrated for his interpretations of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff, Matsuev’s performances blend virtuosity with deep emotion for an unforgettable evening.

“Grease” | 24 October to 02 November 2025 – The ultimate feel-good musical, “Grease”, presented by Dubai Opera in Collaboration with MAC Global; comes to Dubai Opera with electrifying choreography, vibrant costumes, and timeless hits like “Summer Nights” and “Greased Lightnin’.” A high-energy celebration of young love and rock ’n’ roll spirit.

“Wicked The Musical” | 28 January to 15 February 2026 – Before Dorothy, there was “Wicked” — the untold story of Elphaba and Glinda, brought to life with Stephen Schwartz’s iconic score including “Defying Gravity.” A global phenomenon making its Dubai Opera debut.  This show is Co-presented by Dubai Opera and Broadway Entertainment Group

“Rumi”: The Musical | 04 to 07 June2026 – “Rumi”: The Musical presented by Dubai Opera and Mondial AMV Management Consultancy, from creators Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman; tells the story of the 13th-century poet’s transformative bond with Shams Tabrizi. With a sweeping score blending Middle Eastern and classical influences, it brings Rumi’s verses to life in a moving celebration of faith, friendship, and self-discovery.

“Kings Of Convenience”| 16 October 2025 – Kings of Convenience, Norway’s beloved indie folk duo, bring their signature harmonies and acoustic warmth to Dubai Opera. With hits like “Misread, Mrs. Cold, and I’d Rather Dance with You”, Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe deliver an intimate performance cherished by fans worldwide.

“Ilaiyaraaja” | 18 October 2025 – Ilaiyaraaja, the “Isaignani” and Maestro, is a legendary composer, singer, and lyricist with over five decades of music. With 8,500+ songs and 1,400+ films across multiple languages, his blend of classical, folk, and contemporary music has captivated audiences worldwide. This performance celebrates his timeless melodies and enduring legacy.

“Mehran Modiri” | 13 November 2025 – With a 40-year career, Mehran Modiri is a leading figure in Iranian arts, shaping generations through TV, film, theatre, and music. His first UAE tribute offers an evening celebrating his humor, artistry, and legacy through music, memories, and unforgettable moments—a heartfelt homage to a cultural icon.

“Björn Again” | 21 November 2025 – Dubai Opera and MAC Global present “BJÖRN AGAIN” for one night only on May 26. Since 1988, the Melbourne-born phenomenon has gained cult status, with over 5,000 performances across 72 countries, entertaining audiences everywhere from Buckingham Palace to Wembley Arena. Celebrate ABBA’s greatest hits in this unforgettable live experience.

“Ministry Of Sound Classical” | 22 November 2025 – Dubai Opera and MAC Global present two legendary music worlds collide as “Ministry of Sound Classical” brings iconic club anthems to life with orchestral grandeur. Conducted by David Mahoney and paired with a dazzling sound and light show, this one-off event reimagines dance hits into symphonic masterpieces, blending nostalgia with a fresh, unforgettable experience.

“Jon Batiste” | 23 November 2025 – Jon Batiste, a seven-time Grammy and Academy Award–winning singer, songwriter, and composer, returns with his ninth studio album Big Money (Aug 22, Verve/Interscope), followed by a 30-date U.S. tour. Fresh off a Super Bowl performance and the chart-topping success of Beethoven Blues, Batiste continues to build on a career that includes five Grammy nominations for World Music Radio, an Oscar nomination and Grammy win for It Never Went Away, an Academy Award for Pixar’s Soul, and seven years as bandleader of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “Goran Bregovic” | 10 December 2025 – Goran Bregovic, one of the Balkans’ most acclaimed musicians, is renowned for fusing traditional Slavic sounds with contemporary styles. Having performed at Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and L’Olympia, he now returns with his legendary Balkan rhythms, vibrant brass, and electrifying energy for an unforgettable night.

“Leonid Agutin” | 02 January 2026  – Leonid Agutin, one of Russia’s most celebrated artists, is renowned for blending pop, funk, rock, and Latin influences into his unique sound. A ten-time Golden Gramophone winner with global acclaim, he now brings his greatest hits to Dubai Opera for an unforgettable night.

“India Martinez” | 12 April 2026 –TOTALÍSIMO Entertainment presents “India Martínez”, Spain’s flamenco-pop sensation, making her Dubai debut at Dubai Opera. Famed for blending the passion of flamenco with contemporary pop, she has earned Latin GRAMMY nominations and performed with icons like Enrique Iglesias, Alejandro Sanz, and most recently, Will Smith at Premio Lo Nuestro. With her powerful voice and global appeal, India promises an unforgettable night that bridges cultures through music.

“Blue Note: Celebrating International Jazz Day” | 30 April 2026 –Celebrate 85 years of Blue Note Records, the iconic jazz label that defined a genre. Led by award-winning bandleader Peter Long, world-class musicians honor legends like Coltrane, Davis, and Hancock with timeless classics in a special International Jazz Day concert.

“Gipsy Kings”| 08 May 2026 – “GIPSY KINGS” Symphonic, led by founder André Reyes, brings the legendary band’s flamenco-pop anthems to Dubai Opera in a powerful new symphonic format. With over 60 million albums sold and hits like Bamboleo, Volare, and Un Amor, the group reimagines its classics with orchestral grandeur while keeping the raw energy of their guitars and voices. Najwa Karam | 30 September 2025 – Najwa Karam, “The Sun of Lebanese Song,” is a legendary singer and songwriter with over 60 million records sold worldwide. Renowned for her powerful vocals and captivating stage presence, she brings the soulful charm of Lebanese music to life in an unforgettable evening.

Marwan Khoury & Faia Younan | 01 October 2025 – Lebanese singer-songwriter Marwan Khoury, known for timeless hits like Kel El Qasayed and Ya Rab, joins Syrian artist Faia Younan, famed for her lyrical elegance and expressive voice. Together, they share the stage for an unforgettable evening of heartfelt Arabic music.

Zade Dirani | 17 October 2025 – Pianist and composer Zade Dirani, known for blending classical and modern styles, has performed on world stages as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. With works like Princess of the Night and Un Piano Y Amigos, his concert promises heartfelt music, cross-genre artistry, and messages of peace.

Elissa | 03 November 2025 – Elissa, the “Queen of Emotions,” has shaped contemporary Arabic pop with iconic hits like Ayshalak, Betmoun, and Ajmal Ihssas. With her distinctive voice and heartfelt storytelling, she returns for a powerful evening of passion, timeless music, and lasting memories.

Wael Jassar And Abeer Nehme | 10 November 2025 – Lebanese stars Wael Jassar and Abeer Nehme unite for a captivating evening of music. Jassar, beloved for hits like Koul Waad and Ghareibah el Nas, joins Nehme, acclaimed for blending Arabic and world influences with songs like Bala Ma Nhes and Waynak.

Marilyne Naaman | 26 November 2025 – Lebanese singer and actress Marilyne Naaman blends Arabic music with contemporary pop, captivating audiences with songs like Nachez, 5 Minutes, and Ana Min. Rising to fame on The Voice France in 2023, she continues to shine as one of the region’s most promising stars.  

Naseer Shamma | 29 November 2025 – Oud virtuoso Naseer Shamma has redefined Arabic instrumental music with powerful works like Sukûn al-layl fī Baghdad and Resolution Song (Iraq). With 70+ international honors, his timeless performance promises elegance, emotional depth, and music that transcends borders.

Faraj Suleiman | 08 December 2025 – Palestinian composer and pianist Faraj Suleiman blends Arabic melodies with classical and jazz influences, creating a unique sound that bridges cultures. Known for works like Login and Three Steps, he invites audiences to an elegant evening of rich harmonies and soulful expression.  

Sumariyat Band | 09 December 2025 – Led by Maestro Alaa Majeed, Sumariyat is a traditional Iraqi band of mostly female musicians. Blending ancient melodies with soulful vocals and traditional instruments, they celebrate Baghdad’s rich heritage in a vibrant fusion of past and present.

The Yemenis Orchestra | 14 December 2025 – Yemeni composer Mohamed Salem Al-Ghoom, founder of the Heritage Symphonies project, blends traditional melodies with orchestral arrangements, bringing Yemen’s rich heritage to global stages. His performances celebrate cultural depth and resilience in a vibrant fusion of tradition and artistry.

Hany Shaker & Mai Farouk | 23 December 2025 – Legendary singer Hany Shaker, with timeless hits like Heloua Ya Dounia and Albi Maloh, joins acclaimed vocalist Mai Farouk, renowned for her powerful renditions of Umm Kulthum classics. Together, they bring an unforgettable celebration of Arabic music and tradition.

Omar Khairat | 24 December 2025 – Legendary composer Omar Khairat brings his soulful fusion of classical, jazz, and Arabic music to Dubai Opera. With timeless works like Qadeyet Am Ahmed and over 120 film and TV scores, his music has captivated audiences worldwide for over 40 years.

Khalid Abdulrahman | 04 January 2026 – Saudi star Khalid Abdulrahman, known as Mukhawi Al-Layl (Night Dweller), brings his romantic, emotional songs to Dubai Opera. With timeless classics like Allamtani Hobak and Bala Meaad, he continues to captivate generations in a night celebrating the soul of Arabic music.

COMEDY

Dubai Comedy Festival | 03 to 12 October 2025 –The Dubai Comedy Festival unites over 200 nationalities through laughter, featuring world-class comedians alongside local and regional talent. A highlight of the city’s cultural calendar, it celebrates humor’s power to bridge cultures and generations

Rob Beckett | 22 January 2026 – Beloved British comedian Rob Beckett returns with his new stand-up show Giraffe. Known for his cheeky charm and TV hits like 8 Out of 10 Cats and Rob & Romesh vs…, he delivers a night of honest, witty, and relatable comedy.

THEATRE

Khyel Sahra| 11 to 12 November 2025 – Khyel Sahra unites Lebanese icons Georges Khabbaz and Adel Karam in a powerful musical drama about friendship and memory during the civil war. Written and directed by Khabbaz, it portrays two enemy snipers finding humanity amid conflict and chaos.

War & Peace| 21 January 2026 – Dubai Opera and M Premiere present the regional debut of War and Peace, a spellbinding stage adaptation of Tolstoy’s classic. Directed by Rimas Tuminas and performed by Russia’s renowned Vakhtangov Theatre, this epic five-hour production unites celebrated stars and rising talents.

SPECIAL EDITION

Dubai Opera Ball | 07 November 2025 – M Premiere and Mundus Gala present the 4th annual Dubai Opera Ball. A highlight of the city’s cultural calendar, the evening features soprano Olga Peretyatko, bass-baritone Erwin Schrott, and the Strauss Festival Orchestra Vienna, blending opera, ballet, and jazz in a night of elegance and artistry.
