Dubai Comedy Festival 2023 Celebrates Unprecedented Success with ten Sold-Out Shows

Bringing the funny to Dubai, the annual comedy spectacle was another roaring success this year as over 15,000 people flocked to see at least one of the brilliant shows on offer  

With a stellar line-up including comedy greats like Jimmy Carr, Jim Jefferies, Amit Tandon, and John Achkar, fans were treated to a laugh a minute during its 10-day run.

The Dubai Comedy Festival, one of the region’s most highly anticipated events, concluded its remarkable run with an outstanding achievement – a staggering ten sold-out shows. This year’s festival, featuring a line-up jam-packed with renowned comedians from around the globe, captivated audiences with laughter, wit, and unbridled humour. Coming back to the city bigger and better than ever, fans of rib-tickling gags were entertained from start to finish during the festival’s 10-day run.   

The festival showcased an impressive array of comedic talent, including sensational performances by Zakir Khan, Jimmy Carr, Jim Jefferies, Bil 3arabi, Amit Tandon, John Achkar, and Rafi Bastos. Each artist brought their unique comedic style to the stage, leaving the audience in stitches and creating an unforgettable experience for all.

John Achkar’s show was a particular highlight for comedy lovers as he not only finished his incredible tour “Wein 3ayesh” during the Dubai Comedy Festival, but it was also filmed as part of his new special. Giving comedians a platform like this to demonstrate their abilities has always been the aim of the Dubai Comedy Festival, and it was a great achievement to see the likes of Achkar putting on such a marvellous performance.  

The Dubai Comedy Festival lived up to its reputation as a truly international event, with over 80 comedians representing diverse backgrounds and delivering performances in three different languages. The festival truly celebrated the power of comedy to transcend cultural barriers and bring people together through shared laughter. 

Spanning across five venues in Dubai, the festival presented a total of 40 shows, providing ample opportunities for comedy enthusiasts to indulge in hilarious evenings filled with entertainment. Produced by BRAG in association with Live Nation Middle East and Dubai Calendar, the festival garnered immense support from both local and international attendees. 

With over 15,000 people attending shows during the festival’s run, this showpiece of utter hilarity attracted comedy aficionados from near and far. The demand for tickets was unprecedented, with ten sold-out shows showcasing the festival’s immense popularity and success, and many more outstanding performances as well. 

The Dubai Comedy Festival has firmly established itself as a must-attend event for comedy lovers, and plans are already underway for an even more incredible lineup and experience next year.
