The historic Hungarian State Opera House is reopened following an extensive refurbishment and modernisation programme.
In the restoration of the historic parts of the building used by the audience, the designs were based on the explorations of the restorers, archive documents and original ideas, and the aim was to bring back the original colours and materials of the facade and the interior spaces of the opera house. The Neo-Renaissance palace has been open to opera and ballet lovers for more than 130 years to admire one of Budapest’s most important historical monuments.
