AMONGST FEW X REEBOK JOIN FORCES TO REIMAGINE THE CLUB C 85

amongst few x Reebok MENA team up to refresh the classic Club C 85 with an Arabian twist.

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, MARCH 2022: Reebok MENA and amongst few, Dubai’s homegrown streetwear label, announce their first collective collaboration to reimagine the Club C 85. Bringing
together East and West, the amongst few x Reebok Club C 85 ”Magic Carpet” pays homage to the craftsmanship and cultural significance of Arabian carpets that were at the centre of life for the Bedouin tribes of Arabia, Persia and Anatolia.

Since its inception in 2014, amongst few has been one of the main drivers of street culture in the region, often referred to as the pioneers of the Middle East streetwear scene by its peers.  Classic silhouettes and timeless designs have become pillars of amongst few design, so it’s no wonder that the their first ever sneaker collab draws from such an iconic staple in Arabian culture. Like the timeless hand-crafted rugs of the Nomadic legends, the design of the ”Magic Carpet” Club C 85 is made to be utilized, admired and appreciated by all cultures across the globe for decades to come.

Each design element of the sneaker was deliberately selected to reflect the complex and intricate craftsmanship of carpet weaving. Opposing Arabic and English branding on top of the sneaker represent the cultural exchange that amongst few is built on, while intricate arabesque floral patterns are found inside the shoe. Meticulous design details like slight tongue color variations with exposed foam, contrasting branded windows and heels are further examples of how closer inspection, or different angles, reveal new aspects of the “Magic Carpet”.

Arabian carpets have always been treasured by communities in the Arab World, and beyond. With the introduction of the ”Magic Carpet”, amongst few x Reebok aim to uphold that same tradition while also reimagining its place in today’s sneaker world.

Additional highlights of the amongst few x Reebok Club C 85 ”Magic Carpets” include:

•            Nappa Leather – as a relation to Kurk wool, which is regarded as the best type of wool and is
  extremely soft yet durable.
•            Translucent Sole – Representing the warp, which are the vertical white strands that run up and down
  the rug. These are vital to the rug›s structure as the knots are tied to them.
•            Terry Lining – Inspired by the knot density and type found in pile woven rugs.
•            3M Reflective Detail – Inspired by premium carpets that use small amounts of silk within an all over

wool pile to highlight details and add depth to the design

•            Perforated FEW – As a nod to the master craftsman design plate and signature.
•            Debossed Logos – to merit the use of the natural dyes which provide a more muted, natural palette 

and durability.

•            Colour Variations – An indication of authenticity as raw tribal rugs has more «errors» than their

city machine made counterparts.

•            Woven Labels – Later used to brand the weavers unique hand made carpets from the underside.
