She said, “The Abu Dhabi Festival takes pride in its strategic partnership with the Middle East Institute in Washington, and its collaboration with the institute’s Arts and Culture Center to promote Arab culture and music. One of the ways we achieve this is by presenting the New York Arabic Orchestra, under the artistic direction of award-winning violinist and composer Layth Sidiq. The orchestra, consisting of 12 talented musicians, cements the presence of Arab music and culture in the United States and the wider world.”
She concluded by saying, “We recognise the influential role culture, and the arts have in promoting the values of coexistence and global peace, as seen in the masterpieces of the Rahbani Brothers, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and Zaki Nassif. We follow in their footsteps through the collaboration with one of the world’s leading Arabic music ensembles, as they perform at the renowned venue, The Barns at Wolf Trap in Washington. This historic music venue welcomes more than 80 artistic performances each year, spanning from legendary vocalists to chamber musicians and jazz greats.”
