There’s an amazing spread to sample in this special 25th anniversary Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) edition of everyone’s favourite Eid restaurant festival.
Now in its second year, this city-wide event is perfect for friends and families coming together, celebrating the Eid holiday, and relaxing with amazing food. Some of the city’s finest and most-acclaimed eateries have created mouthwatering menus designed to share a taste of their signature dishes and gourmet offerings. It’s the best of Dubai on a plate this Eid Al Adha – just be sure to book in advance.
Best of the best
Fi’lia on the 70th floor of the SLS Hotel & Residences Dubai in Business Bay was listed in Michelin’s Big Gourmand category for its great-value Mediterranean cuisine and has a special set-price lunch menu for Eid. Then Cé La Vi at the Address Sky View and 3Fils in Jumeirah Fishing Harbour impressed with their stunning Asian cuisine – Cé La Vi has a three-course lunch menu from 10 to 12 July, while 3Fils is offering an eight-course evening experience on 11 and 12 July.
Armani Mediterraneo at the Armani Hotel will celebrate Eid with special family lunch and dinner buffets, as well as an Arabic night on 12 July.
Best for buffets and brunches
Great value, with food to please everyone, Dubai is famous for its brunches, and there are many to enjoy over the Eid weekend. Mezzerie at the Waldorf Astoria on the Palm Jumeirah has an Arabic-themed lunch and dinner buffet from 9 and 10 July, while nearby Bait Al Nakhla at the Retreat Palm Dubai – MGallery by Sofitel has its Middle Eastern buffet available throughout. And if you like a lavish location, try the lunch buffet overlooking the Meydan racecourse at Farriers in the Meydan Hotel on 9 and 10 July, or the evening option on 11 and 12 July.
Around the city, family Eid brunches full of international flavours can be found at Pergolas at the Swissotel Al Murooj Dubai, Makan at the Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan Dubai, and Walima at the Grand Mercure Hotel & Residences Dubai Airport. Kitchen6 at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai in Business Bay has the same, plus an evening buffet, as does El Greco at the Courtyard by Marriott at Dubai World Trade Centre, with a focus on Greek and Mediterranean cuisine.
Then Yalumba at Le Meridien Dubai has a special family brunch on 10 July, with pizza-making, movie screenings and magic shows for kids, plus a seafood buffet two nights later. And Miss Tess at the Taj Hotel has a buy-two-get-one-free offer on its Asian evening brunches.
Best for Middle Eastern
Eid Al Adha can be a time to reflect on local culture, and that might mean a craving for regional cuisine. Azur at Raffles Dubai is offering a special Eid lunch menu on 9 and 10 July, with Arabian specialities courtesy of its Lebanese executive chef, while the Sikka Café at La Mer has an Eid set menu that includes mezze, grills, and Emirati desserts, such as chebab and khameer.
Every branch of the Arabian Tea House in Dubai will offer a special Eid tray during the weekend, featuring a variety of Emirati favourites, as well as home delivery. And for a Turkish twist, head to Boaz at City Walk to enjoy sharing platters, mezze and other dishes for a set price.
Best for Far Eastern
Dubai offers an exciting array of Asian eateries, with noodles and curries popular with kids and adults alike. Many are participating in the Big Eid Eat, such as the Emirati-owned Mamafri in DIFC, with its special lunch and dinner menus, and SHI Restaurant on Bluewaters Island, which offers great views, Chinese and Japanese flavours, and a curated sharing menu.
Vietnamese Foodies, with branches at Nakheel Mall and Burj Vista, has a special dish for Eid – a Vietnamese egg coffee, described as a cross between a dessert and a hot beverage. And Pai Thai at Jumeirah Al Qasr will offer a three-course sharing-style dinner menu for two, including a plant-based option, with children under four eating free, plus a tiger prawn red curry cooking class on 10 July.
Best for Indian
Fans of Indian food can also find the perfect dish to keep them satisfied this Eid. The Crossing at the H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road has a special tasting menu for lunch or dinner, with an Eid hamper for every table full of spices and condiments.
A contemporary twist on the classics awaits at Rang Mahal in the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, with its fantastic four-course set dinner menu, and World of Curries in Deira has a wallet-friendly meal for guests, offering three courses for just AED 99.
Best for Italian
Just about every kind of food is available as part of the Big Eid Eat. Bella, on the 19th floor of the Grand Millennium Hotel in Business Bay, has a curated set menu of pasta and meat dishes throughout Eid, while Larte at the Studio One Hotel by Motor City is offering 50 per cent off its a la carte menu, with kids eating free from noon to 6PM.
Dine at Trattoria on the waters of the Souk Madinat Jumeirah for Eid promotions featuring sharing boards and grilled lamb chops.
Best for meats and grills
Meat lovers will be spoilt for choice this Eid, with offers and special dishes to satisfy the hungriest carnivores. Back to Grills in Oud Metha has a buy-one-get-one-free offer on main dishes, or try the special set-menu deal. For meat with a Mexican twist, Copala in DIFC has a buy-two-get-one-free deal on tacos, with diners entered into a prize draw to win a seven-course feast.
Argentina is known for the quality of its steaks, and striploin is one of the options on the Eid lunch and dinner set menus at La Casa del Tango in DIFC, with live dance performances providing the entertainment. Rhain Steakhouse at the Conrad Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road has three evening set menus to choose from this Eid, with lamb tenderloin and 24k gold steak among the delicacies, while Butcha, the Turkish steakhouse at City Walk, has a three-course set menu for two, with accompanying children under 12 eating free.
Other meat dishes can be found across the city. At the Dubai Hills Golf Club, choose a family-friendly setting with the Hillhouse Brasserie, or the special Eid menu at The Duck Hook country-style restaurant. Society in Jumeirah offers special two- and three-course menus this Eid, finished with mouth-watering desserts, while Carna by Dario Cecchini, the steakhouse on the 74th floor of the SLS Hotel & Residences Dubai in Business Bay, has its own exciting evening Eid set menu.
