LEPAS.. The Road Is About to Change

LEPAS.. The Road Is About to Change

Dubai, UAE – April 2026

Elegance is a decision that demands honesty about form, function, and what a thing actually stands for. Somewhere along the way, its meaning got diluted, reduced to price tags and passing trends. In automotive design, it became shorthand for what looks expensive in showrooms and vanishes from memory the moment you drive past it.

LEPAS, Chery Group’s new marque arriving in the UAE this year under Al Ghurair Mobility, returns to that original premise. Its brand philosophy, Drive Your Elegance, treats elegance not as a standard to meet but as a choice to make. One that belongs to the driver.

It’s a far more demanding brief than it sounds. If elegance is personal, the car has to carry a clear point of view without narrowing its audience. The answer LEPAS landed on is nature as a design methodology.

Chief Designer Ivan Dulanovic and his team built the brand’s visual language, ‘Leopard Aesthetics,’ around a controlled, physical expression of power. The leopard serves as a reference point for composure in stillness and precision in motion, the kind of muscular restraint that reads as confidence. The V-shaped ‘Leopard Eye’ daytime running lights give the L8 an immediately recognizable face. The bodywork takes its cues from traditional Chinese porcelain, with panels shaped so that light and shadow shift across the surface at different angles.

The restraint is deliberate. In a segment where the default move is to escalate, LEPAS holds its line. The profile stays clean and uninterrupted. The Norwegian Forest Green finish, applied in seven layers, reads differently in direct sunlight than at dusk. Its character lives in the details.

Inside, the approach shifts. The precision of the exterior gives way to space designed around comfort. The ‘Skyline’ interior wraps around the driver, shaped by a ‘Waterfall’ display that flows cleanly across the dashboard. Textured surfaces, subtly inspired by water-smoothed stone, sit alongside soft, glacier-toned materials, creating a space that feels considered. Advanced NVH engineering keeps the outside world out, while a 2,800mm wheelbase delivers 970mm of rear legroom. Seatbacks recline to 122 degrees, giving passengers room to truly settle in. This is an interior designed around how you actually use a car.

LEPAS launches in the UAE through Al Ghurair Mobility with the L8 as its flagship, alongside the tech-forward L6 and the urban-focused L4, with eight models planned over the next three years.

The premise returns: elegance as a decision. LEPAS builds cars around the idea that elegance belongs to the person making the choice, and that a car earns its place by being worth choosing.
